FAQ¶
Does this spend money? Not unless you tell it to. By default a workload runs on your Claude Code seat, metered by its allowance, never by money. A local engine costs nothing either. The API switch, metered providers and every funded account are yours to turn on.
Can an agent do something I did not allow? Every workload runs under the OS sandbox with a settings file it cannot edit; the acts the contract reserves — spending, signing, publishing, contacting a real person — are not available to it. What reaches you arrives on the Desk.
Where is my data? On your machine: ~/.soloinc for the console's state and
each cell's checkout and ledger as git repositories you can read. The hosted
dashboard, if you publish one, is an encrypted snapshot on your own Pages
project.
Which models? The seat's models by default; local engines and metered providers when you add them. See Models and engines.
Can I use it without Claude Code? Yes. A workload runs one of two ways: on
your Claude Code seat through the claude binary, or on SoloINC's own native
runtime, which needs no claude and speaks the Anthropic Messages API to a
provider key or a local engine. Both run in the same OS sandbox. A Claude Code
seat still needs Claude Code installed, because a seat token can be spent only
through it; a provider key or a local engine does not.
Linux? No. SoloINC installs on macOS and Windows; the Desk and Team apps run on Android.
What is a cell? A company, a department or the holding above them — see Concepts.
How do I get help? The circled ? on every board, panel and sheet; the Ask box on the help sheet answers from these docs; Send feedback opens a pre-filled issue.
What does Pro add? See Licence.
